Who We Represent

Our Mission

THE POP-LOCAL COLLECTIVE

Pop-Local Vancouver is rooted in the intentional curation of local products to make customers feel at home. We strive to diversify our in-store offerings to delight customers with a unique and local shopping experience. Our team curates quality products and new product lines on a regular basis from brands that are local to the Pacific Northwest (primarily, the Portland/Vancouver metro area).

To ensure the brands and products are in fact local, we carefully consider and evaluate everything that we put up on our shelves.  Pop-Local is making a concerted effort to ensure all of the applicants we partner with have made a genuine attempt to be as local as possible — looking at everything from where the company is based, how and where they manufacture their products, and where they procure their supplies.

GETTING INVOLVED AS A LOCAL BRAND

Pop-Local accepts applications from independent artists who live and work in the Pacific NorthWest ( primarily in the Portland/Vancouver metro area) for consideration to be included at our storefront -- located in Vancouver, Washington’s premiere destination at the waterfront, just across from Grant Street Pier! If you apply, please share your in-depth “local story” with us. If accepted, we handle the inventory in store, the merchandising, marketing, and sales of your products! All we require from you as a vendor once accepted into our collective is to drop off your inventory.

Pop-Local is a retail home for products created from local makers, a one-stop-shop existing to support and share the stories of independent businesses, artists and artisans local to Vancouver/Portland Metro & its surrounding area!

WE SUPPORT THOSE WHO DARE TO DREAM AND HAVE THE PASSION TO CREATE. Our mission as a company is to fuel independent businesses, connect the community, and inspire a greater local economy.

Our Story

Pop-Local officially started its journey in August 2020 as a pop-up shop concept born to support independent business through the COVID-19 pandemic. When shop owner Jessica Chan's other company, Night Market Vancouver (Pop-Local's sister event company) was forced to temporarily halt all activity due to health and safety concerns, Pop-Local was created to serve as a new home for local vendors — to showcase their brands and to bring their products to market in a pandemic-friendly way, and without the need for vendors to put up booths. The goal of the store was to give an opportunity for local vendors to have a consistent retail presence while streamlining the process for them and supporting their product sales. All that is required from vendors is for them to drop off their products. Pop-Local handles everything else from there!

Things To Know Before Applying

+ Due to the high number of submissions we receive, our team will contact you via email ONLY if your brand and products are a good fit. Further vendor information and a detailed onboarding packet will be sent out via email upon acceptance. Pop-Local reserves the right to refuse products at any time.

+ Pop-Local’s store front is open 6 days a week, located at the Vancouver, WA Waterfront in the RiverWest Building at 111 Grant Street.

+ Accepted vendors are NOT present — our staff handle all the marketing, in-store merchandising and sales of your products! All we require of you as a participating brand is for you to drop off your inventory.

+ We tend to gravitate towards products with a more modern/contemporary style, but are also open to seeing work of other styles.

+ We do not accept products from direct-sales companies as our mission as a company is to support local, handmade products and/or small batch manufactured items original to the applying vendor/brand.

+ Participating vendors/brands must have an active business license

+ Brands featured in our store collective typically operate on a solely consignment model (payouts are made to vendors on a monthly basis after items are sold). Typical consignment share is a 50/50 split between the vendor and Pop-Local (net of any discounts up to 10%, and before sales tax). Upon official vendor acceptance, further details will be disclosed and our team will work with your brand individually to determine the best model for your products needs.

+ Wholesale Consideration: Pop-Local has a very limited budget for wholesale products. If you would like to be considered, please be sure to include your wholesale line sheet and purchasing terms along with your application when emailing us with your product info to: onboarding@gmail.com

+ If your brand and collection are accepted to be in our store, we generally start with 10 curated line items to showcase your brand at Pop-Local. We do not have a designated space "size" for your product collection as our products vary greatly in size, retail pricing, and tend to rotate around within the store. Product displays are welcome to be submitted for consideration, but not guaranteed to be used. Pop-Local takes pride in creating our own uniform brand look and feel to ensure a delightful shopping experience for our customers.

+ Inventory: Accepted applicants are expected to be able to keep up with stock demands and will be subject to being removed if unable to do so.

+ Product submissions are curated by product quality, originality, brand professionalism, story, presence, retail price point, category availability, and overall fit into our store’s collection.

+ We regularly evaluate all our product offerings based on customer feedback and sales. Product collections are updated often and we will work with you to assure your product collection is fresh for each season.

Artists with wall art, apply to be our rotating in-store featured artist!

Because our wall space is extremely limited in store, we rotate through a featured artist every 2 months. If you’d like to apply to be considered for our featured artist schedule specifically, please see separate application tab below:
