Supporting Our Community with Intention

At Pop-Local, community is at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud to support local organizations, events, and initiatives that align with our mission of uplifting small businesses and creating meaningful connections.

As a small business representing over 300 independent makers, we receive a high volume of donation requests each month. While we would love to support every cause, we’ve created the following guidelines to ensure our giving is intentional, impactful, and sustainable.

Who We Support

We prioritize partnerships with organizations that:

  • Directly impact our local community (Vancouver, WA & Portland, OR region)

  • Align with our values of supporting small businesses, makers, and community connection

Are registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations

Donation Guidelines

To be considered, all requests must:

  • Be submitted through our official request form (linked below)

  • Be made by a verified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

  • Be submitted at least 30 days in advance of the event or need

  • Clearly outline how the donation will benefit the community

Exclusions

At this time, we are unable to support:

  • Political organizations or campaigns

  • Religious organizations or events with religious affiliation

  • Individual fundraisers or personal causes (including GoFundMe-style requests)

Requests that do not align with our brand values or community focus

What We Typically Offer

While not guaranteed, approved donations may include:

  • Gift cards to Pop-Local

  • Curated product bundles featuring local makers

  • Small-batch goods from our shop

We may also explore alternative partnerships, such as:

  • Providing attendee discount codes

  • Cross-promotional opportunities

  • In-store or social media collaborations

If you are interested in a collaboration beyond a donation, please include details in your request.

What to Include in Your Request

To help us review efficiently, please be prepared to provide:

Organization Information

  • Organization name + mission

  • Contact name, role/title, email, and phone number

  • Copy of your 501(c)(3) documentation or federal ID number

Event / Request Details

  • Event name, date, and deadline for donation

  • Description of the event or program

  • How the donation will be used (raffle, auction, sponsorship, etc.)

  • Estimated number of attendees or community reach

  • How this will benefit the local community

Marketing & Recognition

  • How Pop-Local will be recognized (if applicable), such as:

    • Website logo/link

    • Social media mentions

    • Printed materials

  • How the event will be promoted

Additional Context

  • Brief summary of why you’re seeking support

  • Whether you are a current Pop-Local customer or community partner

Important Notes

  • Due to the high volume of requests, we are only able to respond to organizations we are able to support at this time

  • Submission of a request does not guarantee a donation

  • Incomplete requests may not be considered

Post-Event Follow-Up (Required)

If your request is approved, we require a brief follow-up after your event, including:

  • How the donation was used

  • Impact or outcomes (photos, attendance, funds raised, etc.)

This helps us better understand our impact and plan future giving.

Organizations that do not provide follow-up may not be considered for future donations.
